Little Moments

So I was sitting here playing on the computer when "Little Moments" from Brad Paisley came on twice, once from the CD I had on and once from a website. I got thinking about the lyrics, and it is something that I have thought about a lot. I think we are all to easily caught up in the day to day "stuff" that we forget what is really important, and those little moments that make life so wonderful and memorable. Sometimes we think that if we go on some great vacation or to some huge event that we'll create memories, which is true, but at least for me some of the most memorable moments of my life happened within the walls of our home, when nothing was planned. Those are the times you can enjoy one another, laugh, and learn.
Since being married I have found that those "little moments" don't always occur in the most ideal, happy, or fun circumstances. Often those moments show up at the most inconvient times, when we are stressed, when something happened we didn't want to, or when we are frustrated with whatever the situation may be, but all so often those are the times that we really remember and when we are being stretched and taught. But even though those are times are difficult, so often even now Eric andI will look back and them and laugh, or just realize without that experience we wouldn't have learned as much. So even though life is hard, busy, and stressful, I think that everyone, and especially myself, can try a little harder to just enjoy life for what it is, for its imperfections, and not for what it could be.

Crib Assembly

As many of you may know, Kylie and I have had a disassembled crib sitting around the house for some time. I finally decided (with some help from Kylie) that I needed to put this thing together since it's our anniversary and all. We took a few pictures so you can see it come to life...

2 YEARS

Guess what we were all doing two years ago today? We were all at our wedding! YAY! It's crazy how quickly time flies. I'm still amazed at how little the kids were just two years ago, and how much they've changed and grown (and how much we've changed and grown).
But we just want all of you to know how much we love you and appreciate the wonderful examples you are to us. I think we would be in a very different situation without you.

WHY?!?!

Why is it that any time that you REALLY need things to work that they turn against you?! Today I've been trying to get prepared for my American Heritage exam (yes, I'm a slacker and I'm taking it as a Junior), so I've been printing off the power point slides from class. Important? Sure, but I'm now asking myself why I didn't write my paper for my other class before I decided to print all of those slides out that I could have looked at on-line. We've known that our printer needed a new cartridge for about a week or two, but thought we'd be fine...we were wrong. I finished my paper and hit print of the computer, immediately the printer starts beeping out of control and tells me that there is no cartridge available. So I take the cartridge out and put it back in, thinking that might change something...nope. Now, I have a finished paper, that I can't print to turn in tomorrow. Luckily my class is not until four though, so I'm sure I'll be able to figure something out. It is just frustrating!

Welcome to our Garden

Seeing as we do not have a place to really have a real garden we decided to try the next best thing...have a potted garden. So here are our little seedlings in our kitchen window sill. Hopefully they'll actually grow, last year we didn't have much luck with seeds. We've got peppers, tomatoes, herbs, carrots, strawberries, and we just got permission from our landlord to plant pumpkins and squash out front! We've also planted some flowers, just for kicks. We're hoping we have better luck this year than we did last!
