I think we must have been very bored and silly this day, cause we have a lot of pictures of a silly girl.
Stuck!
But oh how I love a babe in jammies.

Add it to the list!

Today, I decided to be brave and try to give Hallie something new again. We haven't done this since we started trying new fruits, and since she had been to the allergist. I had read that barley is something that is not very allergenic, and so if you can't eat wheat to try barley. So we happen to be at Sunflower Market, and we picked up some Organic Barley Teething Biscuits. I was fairly excited thinking it was one more thing she could snack on. Between dinner and bed, we thought we'd give it a shot, that way we knew she would get a bath. It worked out perfectly too, because I had decided to make baby food tonight, so that way she could sit in her high chair, and I wouldn't be tripping over her. But, she had no more finished the first biscuit, and I go to look at her to see if she had reacted, and she had a rash all around her mouth, down her back and chest, and everywhere in between. Of course that stressed me out more than a little bit. Eric put her in the bath, and I called the pharmacy, so that they could remind me how much Benadryl to give her. Then, of course, I called my mom to see what to do. We decided to just keep an eye on it, and give her Benadryl both before bed, and wake up in the middle of the night and give it too her again. Luckily though, by the time we put Hallie to bed the rash had almost completely gone away. Hopefully it will stay that way. But we'll have to add barley teething biscuits to the list. Who knows if it is actually the barley, or something else though. The box does say it's processed in a plant that uses eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts, so there could have been some cross contamination. Either way, she can't eat it. It most definitely is not fun, and kind of scary. But I guess that is the way we have to learn sometimes.

Happy Father's Day

To the Daddy at our house... and all the others in our lives!
We love you all!

Hallie's 1st trip to the Library

5.27.09
We've been trying to be better about going to the library, especially during the summer when we have no reason not too. It has been fun to go almost every week. We try to make it to story time, but only have gone a couple times, but Hallie loves to go sing and read stories and watch the puppet show.
These pictures are from her very first trip to the library though, when we discovered she loves Daisy duck books! We checked out Come Along Daisy! and she laughs and giggles every time we read it, still, so we had to renew it the other day. That's one we probably just need to buy.
It's fun to see her love for books, we often find her laying on the floor by her books, just "reading" them. Her shelf with books on it is often the one that is empty first, she loves to pull them out and look at them. I hope it stays that way.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Today we got to go tour the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It is a very beautiful temple, inside and out. We loved being able to go through it and see all the gorgeous rooms. What a good day.

With all the storms we've had recently, Moroni got struck by lightning

Comfy?

6.14.2009

...I think not.

Swimming at Legacy Pool

5.23.09
After a fun day of planting, we headed to our new favorite swimming pool, Lehi Legacy Aquatic Center. They keep the water a little bit warmer, and Hallie does so much better there. They also, have some fun water play toys, a baby play area, a splash pad, and a lazy river. It is super fun. That has been our pool of choice lately. Hallie is such a little water baby.

Garden 2009

5.22.09
We went to the garden center to pick out our plants for our garden this year. We went with the intent of only getting two or three different plants, and being done. Last year was a little out of control, so we thought we'd scale back. :)...well, our plan didn't exactly work so well. We just couldn't decide on a few, and we both get so excited about plants (okay mostly me). So, we ended up with: Moscow tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, both red and green peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, a watermelon plant, yellow daisies, and French Lavender. Wow! Hallie wanted to touch all the plants, so we had to put them out of reach....We had a wedding to go to that night, so unfortunately planting had to wait for the next day.
5.23.09
Here we are planting our new garden. It was a beautiful day for planting, it had cooled off and stayed really nice.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Though we did have to design a cage to surround our strawberries, so the birds don't eat them, everything is growing well. The last week or so of rain has been rather helpful in that way too. :)

Our Little Horned Owl

6.9.2009

Hallie finally has enough hair for pigtails! Barely though, she looks like a little horned owl. :)

We are SO excited.

"Uh oh! Mom caught me!"
Hallie likes to steal her favorite blankie out from the wash. Big trouble!

Look at those blue eyes!

"Hey Dad, what ya doing?"
What a curious little owl we have. And I love it.
