Nap time
This is when we know for sure our little Miss is ready for a nap...
She doesn't hide her tiredness well.

Meeting Santa & Mrs. Claus
A couple of weeks ago we went to Costco's Holiday Open House, with the Santos family. We ran into Mr and Mrs Claus. It was a really fun night. They had full plates of nachos, and samples all over. Plus, there was a big snowstorm so we there weren't a lot of people, so we didn't have to fight the people. We had a lot of fun, thanks Megan and JJ!

Thank you!
We really do have such AMAZING friends and family. Thank you for all of your help, phone calls, love and support, both known and unknown, it really means SO much! I think it's all under control now, just waiting for things to dry, and sorry for my little meltdown. :)
Really?
So Eric and I came home from church today, much like any other Sunday. We put Hallie down for a nap, changed our clothes, and I went to play on the computer for a bit, and was looking forward to take a nap. Eric went to pick up his pants that he was going to change into, only to find them sopping wet, then he realized the whole floor was soaking wet too. We've had problems with moisture coming through our wall, so we immediately started looking there. Eric happened to notice that our bed skirt was wet too, but from the top. So we immediately knew that our water bed had sprung a leak. The hunt for the hole came next, after much searching, we found it, a hole about the size of a thumbtack hole in the corner of the bladder of the bed. We tilted it up to stop the leak, took everything out of our bedroom, and I just sent Eric off to get a hose to empty our bed out, and a carpet extractor, so that we can clean under it. I mean, I know it really isn't that big of a deal. But really? I mean really? Finals start tomorrow, it's freezing outside, and snowing, and it'll be a couple days until the floor is dry, and our bed is dried out so that we can refill it. I'm trying very hard to see what I'm supposed to be learning from this, but I just can't see it yet. I just want to cry. But for now, I am just going to go get myself a bowl of soup from the crock-pot, snuggle up on the couch, and watch a movie, and pretend like this isn't happening for now. . . or at least til there is something I can do about it.

Candy Necklace
After Erica's baby shower last Saturday Grandma gave Hallie a candy necklace. We all figured she'd just leave it be and wear it as a necklace. No, she figured out very quickly that she could eat it, and she LOVED it! We don't give her sweets very often, mostly because we don't think to, and partly because there is still so much to worry about with her allergies. But she thought it was quite the treat.

BYU Christmas Party with the Samuelson's
Every year, President and Sister Samuelson do a big Christmas party for all of the employees at BYU, they have entertainment, crafts, games, Cosmo, and Santa. We headed up on Saturday, thinking we could go see Santa there, but unfortunately we waited forever, and had to leave before Hallie could go sit on his lap. So we have a picture with him in the background. :) We had a good time overall though, it's always a fun time.

Ouchy!
The other day (12/2/2009) Hallie went running out from her bedroom into the hallway, tripped over something, and fell into the door frame. It was a very loud crack sound, and I though it was for sure her head was split open. Luckily it wasn't but she got a pretty good goose-egg and bruise. But luckily she's fine, and after a good long cry, it didn't bother her again.

15 Months
On Thursday we took Hallie to her 15 month well baby visit. Here are the stats:
Weight: 25 lbs 13 oz (90th percentile)
Height: 31.5 inches (80th percentile)
Head: 49 cm (100th percentile)
The doctor said she is doing great, and growing well.
We've backed clear off milk, and are back to full soy. Hallie just wasn't sleeping (waking up 2 or 3 times a night), and not such a happy camper. So for now milk is on hold. We'll probably try it again in a week or so, and just take it very slow.

New Moon Girls Night!
Yes, you may call us Twi-hard. We had a very fun girls night out to go to the New Moon opening night, and we had a blast. We started out with dinner at Gloria's Little Italy, which was delicious. Then headed out to the theater 3 hours before the show started, and froze! The things we do for fun. :)
Megan and Lauren at dinner
This was the line of people waiting to go into the theater, and we were 3 hours early! The line started in front of those trees with Christmas lights on them. People had tents, sleeping bags, camping chairs, space heaters, and whatever they would need for the stay. Some people take this very seriously I guess. I thought we were bad....Luckily they let us in the theater to wait around 10 pm, for the 12:02 am showing, so we didn't freeze to the parking lot.
All the girls before we set out.

Moo!
Last Friday, November 6, Hallie started to drink real, whole, cow's milk! YAY! We still mix it about half and half with soy milk, but it was a very exciting day at our household.UPDATE 11/21/2009
Due to an unhappy, non-sleeping baby, we have returned to full soy. Hopefully in the next week we will try to mix milk in again, but at a VERY slow rate.

Dinner at the Patterson Household
This is how dinner typically goes at our house. Hallie sits in her high chair, and entertains us all. When she gets bored she dumps everything on her plate, onto the highchair tray, then the she picks it over some more, then starts to drop things onto the floor. That is the sure sign that she is done with her dinner. Then no matter how carefully we thought we watched her we always end up sweeping up half her dinner off the floor. :)
CHEESE!
I guess this is how we wear bibs too. Really effective. :)

Animal Sounds
Lately we have been trying to teach Hallie animal sounds, and she is getting really good at them too. This weekend she learned what an elephant and a monkey say. Saying "moo" is her favorite, and if she doesn't remember an animal sound, that's usually what she says. Here is some video from tonight of Hallie's animal sounds, (and mine too unfortunately.) Sorry its kinda bouncing everywhere.

Read
New Blogs...
For the last few months I have wanted a way to keep track of books I have read and some of my favorite recipes. So I have created two new blogs, they are more for me than anything, but they are open to read if you want. Also, since school is keeping me more than busy, I am sure that they will not be updated frequently but they serve my purpose. :)
So here they are:

Walking Progress
Today, we spent the whole day canning at my parents house. But the most exciting part is Hallie made her first long walk, and we were all thrilled, and she was so proud of herself. She stood up and took probably 20 steps, fell down, and got right back up and carried on. So we though we'd share. :)

Come What May and Love it
I've been thinking a lot lately about this phrase, "come what may and love it." Since hearing this talk it has stuck in the back of my mind, but when I saw this video it reminded me again of how much we are truly blessed with, and it truly puts things into proper perspective. No matter our religion, or situation, or trials we can learn from this great message. I know many of you have heard this talk but I hope you will watch it and gain something from it as well.
"The simple secret is this, put your trust in the Lord, do your best, and leave the rest to Him."

It's Fall Finally!
I LOVE Fall! I love the leaves changing, the cool weather, and the food. It is just the best time of year.
So I though we'd go out and take some pictures of Hallie in the leaves. So here is what we got, she wasn't cooperating too well, she would much rather climb the stairs, crawl into the driveway, or watch and wave to the cars going by. But here are my very limited photography skills at work. :)
