Saturday: May 16
After spending the night in Vernonia with Clayton, Corrie, and the girls, we headed out bright and early to the Oregon Zoo. It was a fun day, though it was very hot and crowded.
All ready to go

Here we go!

In the eagles nest

The bear kept pacing back and forth over and over again

We were all wishing we were the polar bear, we all wanted to jump in with him
In the Polar Bear den

Cooling off at lunch
Hallie LOVED the elephants, she thought they were the greatest thing ever

BABY ELEPHANT!
Hallie even likes pretend elephants. :) Hallie was bouncing up and down on this elephant, and a cute little British lady told me we better buy her a horse because she had a natural rhythm of a rider. So maybe we'll have a rider in our future. :)

the fat meerkats
Look what Hallie brought home from the zoo! An elephant of her very own.
After the zoo, we went to Teann's soccer game, where we did roast in the sun. But it was fun to see her play. What a little hustler, she is quick! She is a good little soccer player!
Then we went back Banks to get ready for Stake Conference. We were able to go with Jim and Jeni to hear Elder Ballard speak. He did a fantastic job, as always. What else would you expect from an apostle? :) We got to meet him afterwards too. Though I think he thought Hallie was a boy. He looked at me and said "raise em up to be a missionary," and I just said "we will Elder Ballard." Oh well, she was in her jammies and I guess men just don't pay attention to what color they are wearing no matter who they are. :) What a cute man though.
Sunday: May 17
We attended the general session of Stake Conference, then came home and had a big BBQ with everyone. It was really fun just to hang out with everyone, and not feel like we were running around crazy.

it looks like those girls adored Hallie at the zoo. What a fun trip!
congrats on making it to the end of the trip! i know how unmotivating it can be to have so many pictures to get up there, but you did great! i love having the blog as a journal, because i'm not the best scrapbooker! in fact i'm horrible at it!
Your little Hallie is growing up so fast! She is SO adorable you guys! We miss you and need to get together for some BBQ this summer!
