Sweaty Sweaty Baby

7.3.09

I don't remember what we were doing. But Angela was over at our house one afternoon when Hallie was napping. When Hallie woke up I went in to get her, but she had somehow slept with her blanket on top of her head, on a hot July day. This is what resulted. :)

She was VERY sweaty, to say the least. I don't know why it was so funny, but I think Ang and I laughed about it for most of the afternoon.

Laundry Cutie

6.10.09

We occasionally (okay more than occasionally) throw our dirty laundry in front of the laundry room door. This is one of Hallie's favorite places to play. She loves to dig through and see what she can find. If she is lucky she sometimes finds her favorite pink blanket. On this day, she was exceptionally happy to be playing in the laundry.

Slimy...yet satisfying

I was just looking through some pictures and came across a few, that I haven't posted.

7.4.09

For awhile Hallie was quite attached to her bug. But she figured out a new way to transport it so that it could come with her. Kind of gross if you ask me. It was really funny. She would haul it around in her mouth for so long the foot would be completely soggy, and then she'd chew on it. It made a very disgusting sound. Luckily she no longer does that. :)

Our Little Helper

7.31.09

Lately we have learned that we cannot leave the dishwasher open for even the slightest second. Because we have a little "helper" on our hands. It goes something like this.

"I'll empty the dishwasher!"
"Mom? Where does this go? On the floor right?"
"Oh, okay, that's what I thought."

She is just getting too big, too fast. But we love all the little things she is learning each and every day. It's hard to remember life without her.

Baby Alisa Hall

On Sunday, August 23rd, my sister, Kelsie, and her family welcomed this cute little girl into the world.
Born at 12:15 pm
Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz.
Length: 19 inches

The family of 5
Isn't she the cutest? We all love her dark hairHallie wasn't completely sure about her new cousin at first, and was perfectly fine sitting with Grandma. But before we left she gently patted her, and waved goodbye.

Congratulations Hall Family, we love you all!

It's that time of year again

Fall Semester is here again. Eric starts today. I start on Monday. School always brings along its own new challenges, so it is good to know that there is an end in sight. Eric should be able to graduate with his bachelors degree in April 2011, and if all the stars align, I will be able to graduate this coming April. Being able to get a college education truly is, has been, and will continue to be, such a blessing in our lives and a great opportunity. A new school year is exciting, yet daunting. We have loved being able to take the summer off to play, and enjoy time as a family. But I guess its back to the grind for the Patterson crew.

Our Little Lady Turned One!

On August 17th our baby turned 1! I'm still kind of in shock that we have a one year old. It turned out to be a fun day.

While I was making Hallie's birthday cake I realized that I needed to level off the bottom. So I decided since Hallie doesn't get treats very often, that I would let her have a little bit of cake with her breakfast.
Well, while I was trying to get her to look up from her cake to take I picture, I said the wrong words. I said "where's Hallie?" without even thinking what her response would be.

Well, this is the response I got....

Which resulted in this. :)
So Hallie enjoyed a birthday morning bath.
After which a wonderful birthday nap. Lately she will crawl into a ball on the living room floor, and start sucking her fingers. A sure sign that it is time to go to sleep.
The Birthday Bash
For Hallie's party we invited our friends and family to the park by our house to play, and have cake and Popsicles. It was fun to celebrate with everyone.

Good to the last bite.
Do you think she liked it?
So do I.
The aftermath. Hallie ate almost the whole head!
She would have kept going too, but we were afraid she would
get a stomach ache.

After talking to Grandpa Dennis & Michelle on the phone, and playing a little bit longer, it was time for bed.
Good night!
Thank you everyone for enjoying Hallie's birthday, and first year with us. And thanks for all that you do and mean to us. We know we don't tell you enough, but we really do appreciate and love you all. We really couldn't ask for better family and friends.
