A Christmas Eve Movie

Eric's students were so kind and generous and gave Eric movie tickets for the whole family for Christmas, so we decided to use them to see Tangled on Christmas Eve. Tangled is such a fabulous movie! We all LOVED it! Including Eric. :)

Hallie got to give her ticket to the man at the door. She thought that was pretty great.

Dance

These darling girls have been taking dance classes and invited us up to see their "work in progress" performance.
It was so fun to watch them dance! They know so much, and do such a great job!

Hallie wanted to be right out there with them. She kept saying "I go sit by Emi kay?", or "I can jump!", or "I go hold hands too." She hasn't stopped since then either. At least twice a day Hallie will ask me if she can go dance with Emi and Lizzie, or she will put on one of her princess dress-ups and tell me she is ready to go dance with them. So I think we may have a little dancer on our hands!

After it was over, Hallie just couldn't stand still, she wanted to dance, and run around. I think she ran a loop around the studio at least fifteen times.

So I stole a picture from Kelsie, of Hallie with Emi and Lizzie in their pretty dancing dresses.

Thanks for inviting us! We all loved it!

Once There Was a Snowman

We got a HUGE snowstorm! So big that some school districts even got a snow day. In all my years at school in Utah I never had a snow day. Which was fine, they take snow days out of Spring Break, so it was fine. But all day after this massive storm Hallie kept asking if she could go outside. Well, I am not such a huge fan of the snow. It is pretty to look at, from the inside of a warm place, and it is always nice to have a white Christmas, but that is my extent of liking the snow. So I kept telling her, "when Daddy gets home maybe he could take you outside and build a snowman," which satisfied her, but she kept reminding me of that. Well by the time Eric got home, and we got a few things done and helped my aunt shovel her driveway it was getting pretty dark, but Hallie was still convinced that she needed to build a snowman. So we got her all bundled up and went outside.

I had no intentions of being out there much longer than to take a few pictures, but I was told I needed to help.

Hallie's hat is a bit too big and it kept sliding over her eyes. But here is the final product! A snowman just Hallie's size.

We all had a fun time, even though I wasn't sure that I would ever get warm again. :)

The Bean Museum

Just before the Larsen's were getting ready to move, Lauren invited us to go to the Bean Museum at BYU. Hallie loves going to the museum, and we LOVE doing anything with them! So we were thrilled to go. Abby and Hallie just ran around in circles looking at everything, and getting some good wiggles out, while Lauren and I pushed Claire around and talked. It was such a fun time, and a good excuse to go play before they move. If you can't tell from the picture above, Hallie LOVES Abby! She always has, and she wants to be right next to Abby doing what she is. They share the same birthday, but Abby is a year older, so it's fun to see them together and watch them play. We sure will miss them!

Grandpa's 80th Birthday

On December 3rd my Grandpa turned 80 years old! The day after we all gathered at my parents house to celebrate! It was so fun to come and celebrate and see everyone. It was a crazy day for me, so I wasn't able to stay as long as I would have liked too, but it was so great to be there while I could.
Hallie loved having a house full of kids to play with and did NOT want to take a picture, so this is the best we have. Thank you Kelsie for sharing, because she is screaming in the couple pictures we have. What a pickle!

My Grandpa is the best, we all love him and I think anyone who has ever met him loves him too. He is such a people person and love to talk and tell stories. I love listening to his stories! When I was little, anytime they came over to our house, he would ask me "how's your cat doing?" but we did NOT have a cat, we had a dog. It was one of those things that Grandpa always did, and it always got my attention and we'd always have the discussion that Thunder, our dog (I guess she was really my brother's dog, but I still claim her), was in fact a dog and not a cat. It is one of those little things that I will always remember.

When I was two, almost three, my Grandpa was in a major car accident, and had to have some major surgeries done. But because I wasn't in school and I was so little and wouldn't be scared I remember my mom taking me to the hospital and climbing up on his bed and climbing on him, (which I'm sure was uncomfortable considering the situation) and sitting up on the pillow next to him with his head all wrapped up and bandaged. It wasn't until recently that that is where I was remembering that from, but it was neat to place that memory. It was neat to know that even in that situation he wanted to see the grandkids and be close to them.

Anyway, it was a really fun day and it was fun to see everyone. Happy 80th birthday Grandpa! We sure do love you!
