Playing the Wii

1.13.2012

Hallie absolutely adores her cousins, so when they were playing Just Dance, after tying some quilts, Hallie wanted to be right there with them.

It was a lot of fun to watch all of them, going to town.  I should have taken video of it.

Curly Hair

1.8.2012

Once upon a time, I used to do Hallie's hair pretty much everyday.  Which is quite funny because that's when I was crazy busy with school, and everything that entails, and probably didn't really have time to.  But now, that I definitely have time do, it doesn't happen too often.

Hallie kept asking for her hair to be curly for church, but she would always ask about 15 minutes before we should have been heading out the door, and I somehow do not own a curling iron.  One day we actually did have time to do her hair with rollers before church.  She was very patient while I put them in, but she didn't want to wait for them to dry.  So they did result in some curls, but they didn't hold up to great.  Plus I have a feeling that her hair will be like mine in that way, that it just struggles to hold a true curl for too long.

But it sure was cute while it lasted!  And it made for one happy little girl, and that's all that really matters.

Ruth's Diner & A Very Short Trip to the Aquarium

1.6.2012

I'll admit it, I have a love for Food Network.  (And HGTV, and TLC, but that's besides the point.)  But while watching Food Network one day, they were visiting Ruth's Diner in Salt Lake in Emigration Canyon.  Neither Eric or I had heard of it, but it looked delicious and for about two weeks after watching it, Eric kept saying we needed to go so that he could try their Chicken Fried Steak.  So after going to campus for something, probably to buy textbooks or something, we headed up the canyon for lunch.  It is kind of out there by itself, about two miles past the zoo.  But it was worth it, plus it was a fun outing.

Hallie chose pancakes for lunch.  She must be related to her Grandpa Bob. :)

The lady in the pink shirt behind Hallie in the picture above, had a service dog in training with her.  Hallie thought that was pretty great, because the dog was inside laying under the table.  We talked to them for quite awhile about it.  They have a puppy for 18 months, and basically acclimate them to being out in public.  They had just taken the dog to the Natural History Museum.  It sounds like a pretty cool program.  Anyway...moving on.

We had to have a picture outside, and Miss Hallie Mae was being quite silly. :)

Because we were up that way anyway, we decided to use our Aquarium passes again.  Though Hallie had a major meltdown about 15 minutes in, so we didn't stay long.

Playing With Gracie

1.5.2012

Since moving into our new ward, it has been so nice for Hallie to have another little girl just her age to play with! We love it when Gracie comes to play!

The Park in Salt Lake

1.4.2012

Even though Eric is in Salt Lake a lot, I still don't know the city well.  I can get around and get where I need to go, but as for what to do to kill a few hours in Salt Lake, I'm still working on figuring out.  (Other than Temple Square, and Gateway Mall)  So when we just have a little bit of time, sometimes we will go to this park near campus.  I think to Hallie it may possibly be the only park in Salt Lake, but she loves it.  She loves the dinosaur that she has named Sara, like on Land Before Time, and there are often people there with their dogs playing that we like to watch.  So while it probably isn't the most exciting thing to do while Eric is on campus, it suits our three and a half year old just fine.

This day, she was determined that she, was in fact, tall enough to jump up and grab onto this bar all by herself.

Though, it won't be too much longer, and she will be.

Taylor's Basketball Game

1.3.2012

We were lucky enough to go watch Taylor play in his basketball game, and we had a lot of fun.  Hallie loved playing with her cousins, and eating popcorn.
