Let's Go Fly a Kite

 5.23.2012

On a semi-nice/windy spring day, we all needed to get out of the house.  So we packed up a quick picnic and headed out to Nielson's Grove for the afternoon.  We had a great time!

Hallie and Eric running back from looking at the ducks to eat some lunch.
These birds were all over the place, and weren't afraid to see if you were going to feed them.
After having some lunch, we pulled out our kite.  There is a huge grassy area right in the middle of the park that is perfect for kite flying.  Hallie was so cute to watch.  She would just run her little legs with the kite trailing behind her.  It was darling.

It's hard to see, but Eric is on the right in the black, and Hallie is towards the left.  It really it a big area, and Hallie ran back and forth at least a dozen times.  Which meant she had an excellent nap when we got home.
I sat with Paige and took pictures, but I couldn't help but think of Mary Poppins, and sing "lets go fly a kite, up to the highest height!"  It also inspired me to go check out Mary Poppins for Hallie from the library.  She loved it!

BYU Dinosaurs

 5.21.2012

Hallie loves to go to the BYU dinosaur museum, and was excited to take her little sister to see the dinosaurs.  It was a quick trip, and Paige didn't even know she had been, but we had a good time nonetheless.

Solar Eclipse

5.20.2012

One of the bonuses of Eric and Hallie going to the BYU Astronomy Festival, is they got glasses to see the solar eclipse!  We went up to my parents house to watch it.  It was neat to see, and fun to watch Hallie.  She was so interested in it, and wanted to look again and again.  Eric had asked for an extra pair of glasses at BYU and the lady told him, "oh, your little girl will only look for about three seconds and then won't care anymore."  Eric knew at that point that wouldn't be the case, but he didn't press the issue.  Our Missy Mae loves to learn and is so curious about the world around her, which I just love about her.  I need to be more like that myself.

Eric discovered that he could take pictures through the glasses to see it.  Too bad the power lines were right in the way.

My dad also pulled out his welding mask so we could look at it that way too.
Hallie needed to look again and again...
...and of course had to try out the mask too.

Little Paige, not quite three weeks old, just slept in her carseat.

Reading

 5.21.2012

The Hall Family got this book for Paige when she was born, and she pretty much instantly loved it!  She still does.  This day she laid on our bed and looked at it for a good half an hour.  Occasionally we would turn the page for her, but she was one happy camper.

Hallie was already in bed when we took these pictures, and she was feeling a little left out and needed her picture taken as well.

What cute little girlies we have!
