Crazyness!
Ok, so this past week or two has been super crazy. So I just did four new posts to give you the update of our family. I would have done it as it happened, but with finals, homework, Hallie's trip to the hospital, Christmas, and everything else, it just wasn't the top of the priority list. Hope you enjoy! :)

Happy 4 Months!
This is Hallie, our little Eskimo baby!
We had our first major snow this week.

I bought Hallie this new bow, thinking it would be very cute for Christmas, but not with this intent.
We all had a good laugh though, because it pushes her ears forward, and she looks like a little Christmas elf. But what a cute elf she is! :)
Gingerbread Ornaments
This year we thought we'd make gingerbread ornaments for our Christmas tree. We had fun with this Family Home Evening. Granted we just decorated our Christmas tree and completely forgot to put them on the tree, and they are still sitting on the counter. Oh well! It was a great FHE project.
It's a Cosmo Christmas
We went to Eric's work Christmas party last weekend at BYU. We left the house quite late, and so we had to decide whether to go have pictures with Cosmo, or with Santa. If you know my husband, this was not a hard decision! Cosmo it was! (Unfortunately, we realized Hallie was dressed in the absolutely wrong color for meeting Cosmo. :) ) So Hallie may not have a picture with Santa from her first Christmas, but she has one with Cosmo the Cougar. A few people have asked how our precious little one is. So this is what happened and why we took her to the ER on Sunday.
Lately Hallie has been more grumpy than normal, and would scream for hours on end. Which, for anyone who has been around her, knows that this doesn't sound right for our little girl. But on Friday night, we noticed that Hallie had blood in her stools. We called the doctor Saturday morning, who told us just to watch it and if it got worse to take her to InstaCare. Sunday I went to change her diaper and it was a lot worse than before. So I went and interupted Priesthood meeting, got Eric, left church early, and headed for InstaCare. When we arrived there, they told us that they really couldn't do much for her there and that we needed to take her to the ER instead.
So when we got the the hospital, we sat and waited and waited and waited. Then they took us back to a room, and we waited some more. We finally saw the doctor, who was really good to work with, and he ordered some blood work and some other tests. The nurse who came to do the bloodwork was awful, and not helpful at all. We would explain what was going on, and she'd just say "well that can just happen sometimes" or "that's not completely unnormal," to say the least she was not our favorite person, and we were very frustrated. Then she stuck Hallie's heel to get blood, and took FOREVER doing it, easily 10-15 minutes, which for how much blood she collected, and having a screaming baby is a long time. Then she didn't have a band-aid ready, so Hallie was flailing, and covered herself in blood, which the nurse didn't even bother cleaning up. Ya, I was more than bugged. But anyway, enough about our horrible nurse. After waiting and waiting again, all of the tests came back normal, but the doctor was still concerned, and knew that the symptoms she had were not normal, especially for a baby her age.
The doctor then decided to take an x-ray, which again was normal. Other than she was a little "backed up," everything looked okay. So after three and a half hours he told us, that something wasn't right, and that he wasn't sure what it was, but it isn't critical enough to hospitalize her. He thinks that it may have to do with her continual thrush, that will not go away, and/or some sort of colitus. So he just told us to watch it and go see our pediatrician in the morning. It was a LONG day, with few answers.
Since then, Hallie hasn't seem to have any more problems. Monday, we took Hallie to our doctor, who after explaining what was going on referred us to a pediatric gastrointestinal doctor at Primary Children's Hospital. The only problem is the soonest we can get in to see them is March 4, 2009. We are on a cancelation list, so hopefully we can go sooner. Dr. Savage said if it comes back to call her and she will make sure she gets in sometime this week. So we are just keeping an eye on it for now. We go back for Hallie's four month appointment on Friday, and so that will be a good excuse to check-in with our doctor for now.
So, that's our excitement for now. :) And after, three and half hours of waiting in the ER, and a visit to our doctor, we still don't know much. But for now things seem to be doing better.

Rise & Shout!
A couple of weeks ago, during Thanksgiving Break, we took Hallie to her very first BYU sporting event. I'm sure it will be the first of many such outings, but we had to document it. :) We decided we'd brave a BYU Women's basketball game, and see how it went. (The fact that it was free was a plus too though) Hallie actually did quite well, and even met the president of BYU, President Samuelson. Unfortunately, BYU lost to, the number one team in the nation, UConn. We didn't stay the whole time, but it was fun while we were there.
