Axtell, Utah

7.10.2010

After finishing our half marathon, we went home, showered, and got back into the car to go to my Aunt Judy's house in Axtell, Utah about and hour and a half away. She is moving to Texas and wanted us all to see the neat place they lived. She has told us over and over again to come down and visit and we never had, so we decided we better go. But it was well worth it! We would love to go back!

Hallie thought it was great that Elmo came in the car with her.
Axtell, Utah
We all sat around and ate, shot guns, and talked with my aunts and uncles, my cousins, and the Negus Family.
Sherrie and Grandma
We rode 4-wheelers...
Taylor would've riden all day long if we let him

Hallie was spoiled, and got to bring all of these stuffed animals home

The Dead Head Shed
This is where Hallie wanted to spend her time as you can tell. It's full of dead animals from all over the world. It's really really cool! They had some really neat animals.

Eric taught Hallie how to play horseshoes.

Hallie got to play with her cousins. She LOVES Megan, so she was so happy to sit and play with her.
We had such a great time, and wish that we had visited sooner. We were so happy that we went.

Hobbler Half 2010

7.10.2010

Well, Half Marathon day came and went, and we survivied! Barely though!

We did really well until about mile 7, then, lets just say it went downhill from there. We hit a lot of hills, and were running low on energy. We had bought some GU to maintain some energy, but we took one taste, and we both just about threw up. It was NASTY! And after that it never was the same. (Not to make excuses or anything :) )

But we finished, and that's all that matters right? Angela's mom, Edy, came and cheered us on and followed us in her car for the last few miles, and it gave us great motivation. Thanks Edy!

Let's just say we took forever. Can you tell?
They look so excited. :)
Still waiting
Finally, here we come!
Oh the finish line! Happy day! I didn't want to move, let alone be running.

We survived!
Eric left me this lovely note on me for on the mirror to see around 4 am.

4th of July: Round II

7.5.2010

On the Monday after the 4th, Eric had the day off, and we enjoyed another BBQ and my parents. It was a nice relaxing day.

Hallie figured our she LOVES watermelon, she ate about 4 pieces clear down to the rind.
Cute, cute girls. Lauren taught Hallie how to spit the seeds. :)
We roasted marshmallows
Hallie just wanted the marshmallow, at least for a couple of bites
We sat around and talked.
Ate smores.

Played on Grandpa's new toys. Hallie thought that that was great.
And we did sparklers!

This little girl LOVES fireworks, and asks all the time to go watch them. But unfortunately I think we're a ways out from any firework shows around here.

Happy 4th of July

7.3.2010

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love how festive it is, and the sense of patriotism always impresses upon me. I am truly grateful to live in this wonderful country, and to be an American. I am so grateful for those brave men and women who have and continue to serve us and protect our country and freedoms. And equally so I appreciate their families who allow them to do so, and sacrifice time with their loved ones for us. I don't think that I am that selfless. So thank you to all those, and their families, who have sacrificed to allow us to be free.

This year because the 4th hit a Sunday, the Stadium of Fire was on Saturday. So we all got together then for a big BBQ, water fun, and fireworks. I took a few hundred pictures so these literally are just a few of them.

Can you tell that she loves the water?
