The Princess Festival

At the beginning of June I started nannying for a family friend, and their Grandma wanted to take all the girls to the Princess Festival at Thanksgiving Point, so we were invited along. Hallie got to go with La La a little bit earlier, and I met up with them a little bit later with the twins.

Hallie was tired, but she had a great time. She got her hair done, and it was SO cute. This lady was so patient, and she sat and curled her hair into these cute little ringlets. It was darling.
We got to meet Belle. The Beast was there too, but he was pretty scary and made Hallie more than slightly nervous, so Belle was nice enough to come over to take a picture with Hallie.

We saw Sleeping Beauty too. I was surprised how Hallie just hopped right up on the bed with her. (and yes, Hallie's eyes are closed in almost every picture)

Arabian Nights (they couldn't use Disney licensed names, but the other ones are fairy tales so they were okay)They had this little booth that we got to stop at, and they told them all about how some little girls far away in Africa weren't able to have a lot of the fun things they did, and even some of the boring things like clean water they don't have. Hallie got to make a wish for the little girls in Africa. It was a neat little thing, and helped you appreciate how lucky we are.

Hallie loved these face things, even though she never smiled very cute, I loved how excited she was to climb up and stick her face in.

Frog Prince. this made Hallie a little bit nervous because the frog on the table would talk to you and answer questions, plus she was very tired.

We had a great time and Hallie absolutely loved it! Thank you so much Edy for inviting us!

Bowling

From time to time, we'll get together with all of Eric's students from work, and this time we went bowling. Hallie hadn't ever been, so it was quite the experience for her. At first she wasn't a fan, but by the end she loved it!
I couldn't get enough of her little feet in bowling shoes. :)

Building a Bear for Grandpa Dennis

Grandpa Dennis turned 60 this year, so we decided to make him a special bear, all decked out with a Harley-Davidson Jacket and everything.

BYU Rugby National Championship Game

After going to Emi and Lizzie's dance performance Eric and Hallie headed to the rugby national championship game, which BYU was playing in, and I headed home with my mom. But they had a great time, and Hallie now loves watching rugby, something Eric has no complaints about.

Even though BYU lost, they had a great time.

Emi & Lizzie's Dance Performance

Emi and Lizzie have been doing dance, and we were lucky enough to be able to go and see their Spring Concert.

Hallie wanted to make them flowers, so she colored some flowers and we made them each a cute little flower.

Hallie was so excited to see the girls dance! But she was probably equally excited to sit with Grandma!

Then it was their turn, and they were oh so darling,and did such a great job!

We were so glad we were able to go and see them dance! Hallie sitll talks about it and tells us constantly that she is going to go and dance with Emi and Lizzie.

5 Year Anniversary

Since we haven't ever done anything big for any of our anniversaries, and had a pretty low ket honeymoon, we decided to take a fun trip for our fifth anniversary.

Hallie got to go and spend a couple of nights at Grandma and Grandpa's and she was thrilled!

We started our trip by going to Red Rock Brewery for lunch, which is one of our favorite places to eat in Salt Lake. I love their French Onion Steak Sandwich! YUM!

After lunch, we headed to this beautiful place and did an endowment session. I hadn't ever been inside the Salt Lake Temple other than for weddings, so it was great to be able to do a session there, and it was a great way to start our trip.

We had a little bit of time after coming out of the temple before we could check-in at our hotel, so we wandered Temple Square for awhile, even though it had been raining.

We were able to stay at The Anniversary Inn downtown, and it was really fun.

The Savannah Room

That night we went to dinner at Biaggi's at the Gateway, which is fabulous if you ever get a chance to go. After that we decided to go to a movie, a rarity for us. But it was nice to not be on a time constraint, or worry about getting home or anything like that, but just be able to enjoy the night together.

Staying at The Anniversary Inn included in-room breakfast, which was unfortunately not very tasty.

Before we headed out we had a firefighter interrupt us getting ready for the day and showered. I guess the pipes in our room or something like that had leaked down the ceiling and set off the fire alarm. It was quite the ordeal. :)

After getting everything settled with them, and our stuff all packed up, we headed up to Midway to stay at the Zermatt Resort for a night, and for Eric to attend a conference for CASA.

On the way up we drove through snow, yes snow! Not okay!

After arriving at the Zermatt, we had lunch with some of Eric's CASA friends, and Eric got checked in for his conference. I couldn't check into our room for a few more hours, so I headed back to Park City and enjoyed so great shopping at the outlet mall while Eric was in a couple meetings.

The rest of that day was pretty non-eventful, we just hung out and watched the season finale of The Office.

The next morning I woke up to this beautiful view.

Eric was already in meetings when I got up, so I went downstairs to the cafe and got breakfast, then wandered the grounds. It really is beautiful up there.

After spending the day relaxing, and checking out of the hotel we headed back to the outlet mall for Eric to do some shopping, then we hit Eric's one request...eating at the Blue Iguana in Park City. He actually wanted to eat at the Red Iguana in Salt Lake, but we didn't make it, though it is supposedly better.

Eric was definitely a happy camper, and it was definitely very good food.

It was a wonderful little getaway to celebrate 5 years!
