After many weeks of watering, feeding, and taking care of our little garden, we noticed that the leaves on our pepper plants were getting awfully shiny, and our tomato plants were struggling. We first thought that it was just because it was so hot, but we were wrong! We have bugs! Aphids in particular! So like good little gardeners, we got on the
internet to figure out what to do, the answer...LADYBUGS! Who knew that ladybugs ate other bugs? Cause I sure wouldn't have come up with that one on my own. The only problem was, we could not find anyone who had ladybugs in stock, everyone was out. When we went to my parents tonight we said something about it, and my mom got on the phone and found us some! Then off we went and bought ourselves a bag of 1750 ladybugs (that was our only option). We also thought that we would be able to put some back in the fridge and let some more go in a week or so, no such luck. Once you open the bag they all come out! We sure hope that this will take care of our bug problem! Isn't it kind of odd that you fix a bug problem with bugs? Anyway, here are some pictures from our adventures:

Now that is a bag of crazy. I would have never guessed in a million years that lady bugs ate other bugs. Huh. So...you are going to keep the extras in the fridge? And they won't die? I am not an expert in the bug area. Do they automatically hibernate in the cold and magically come to life when you pull them out?
I've heard of this phenomenon before and I still think it's crazy. I'm not sure how willing I'd be to put more bugs in my garden, but it sounds like a reasonable idea. Well done on being brave enough to follow such bizarre advice!
KYLIE! I was going through my mail to see when your baby shower was...and I missed it! I'm so sorry! I have a little gift for you. Do you want me to send it to your house? What is your address?
Look how happy they look! (=
