After four weeks of Hallie's medicine for thrush, her thrush has still not cleared up. So when we went to the doctor on Friday, Dr. Savage told us to put her on Gentian Violet. Now when a color is in the name you know its trouble, it looks like purple dye. Our doctor told us it would make a mess, but I seriously underestimated what that meant. It turns everything purple, Hallie's mouth, skin, burp rags, EVERYTHING! Which is why we give it to her without any clothes on, the last thing I want to do is try to get that stuff out of clothes. Plus, it doesn't taste good, so Hallie just spits it everywhere too, and does not like to take it. Why would any parent do that to themselves? Granted if it works, it is worth it, but it is just a pain. I thought I had a better picture, but this is after an hour or so of Hallie spiting it back out, me wiping her tongue so she would stop gagging on it, and scrubbing her face so it wouldn't be purple for the next week. YUCK! I just feel bad for her. This picture is actually much better looking than it was by far.

On another note, at Hallie's two month appointment, on Friday, she was 13 lbs 4 oz, and 24 inches long. That puts her in the 95th percentile all the way around. She also had to have her immunizations, so she got three shots. I was actually surprised how well she did. Hallie screamed and screamed when they gave her the shots, to the point that I've never heard her cry like that. But as soon as Eric picked her up, and we gave her her binky she was fine. It probably didn't help that she had fallen asleep waiting for them to come in, what a rude awakening! But she has been fine since, not too grumpy or anything.

That is so funny to see a picture of the purple dye in her mouth. Sorry it's been such a pain for you though. Your family picture at the top turned out really well!
Ok remember how that shot of Hallie's purple mouth is NOTHING compared to what it was when it happened...um yeah...that was retarded!!!!! At least now you know and won't ever have to do it again!!
That purple medicine is crazy--I hope it works!
