There is no other way to bring in the New Year...

...than making tin foil hats!

This year we rang in the new year in true Patterson fashion! This is Eric's all time favorite tradition with his family, and because I was so sick last year we didn't do it, so we decided to carry it on this year and share it too. We spent the night at the Porter's with their girls, and Chad & Angela. This tradition was a hit all around, everyone loved it! We spent a couple hours having fun and making our hats. It is exciting to see where everyone goes with their hats, they all turn out so different.

If you want to hear the story behind this tradition (and believe me it's a good one), you will have to ask about it sometime, I just know I couldn't do it justice in writing. And if Eric tries to tell you I don't like this tradition, don't believe him! I think it is fun, I just don't get quite as elaborate as he does, and believe me this year was tame from him!

Happy 2009!
Hallie to had her very own tin foil hat
Um yes, that would be a tin foil mullet on my husbands head! Boys! :) This is Emily, hers wasn't quite done yet, but she needed a picture. And I forgot to take one before she went to bed. Here is Princess Jenni Tin foil

And this is what Hallie thought of all the New Year's excitement! She was obviously very impressed, and thankfully, was long gone when midnight rolled around.

Tin Foil Hats 2007

Okay, so this is us ringing in 2007 in Oregon. And yes, that would be Eric in the tin foil robot. I just thought you'd like to see how elaborate they get. The boys literally go into the garage and hide for hours making their tin foil hats and the girls just stayed inside and chit chatted until midnight. Then at midnight all the boys come out of the garage, and everyone comes out of their houses to unveil their creations. It is fun to see how creative everyone is. It really is quite the production, and very fun! Everyone just has a good time, and tries to outdo one another. It was fun to do it this year here in Utah, but it just isn't the same. :)

We hope you all had a Happy New Years Day and wish you the best on the year to come! We are so blessed to have such great friends and family who support us in everything we do. Thank you for all you do. We love you!
