I just finished reading this little book, it's a quick one, I read it in about 15 minutes. It is a neat book full of beautiful artwork and inspiring words. But more than anything it was an answer to prayer. There were two quotes that were truly what I needed to hear, and wanted them to be somewhere where they could be easily found, so here they are.- - - - - - - - - - -
"Some mothers seem to have the capacity and energy to make their children's clothes, bake, give piano lessons, go to Relief Society, teach Sunday School, attend parent-teacher association meetings, and so on. Other mothers look upon such women as models and feel inadequate, depressed, and think they are failures when they make comparisons. . . . Sisters, do not allow yourselves to be made to feel inadequate or frustrated because you cannot do everything others seem to be accomplishing. Rather, each should assess her own situation, her own energy, and her own talents, and then choose the best way to mold her family into a team, a unit that works together and supports each other. Only you and your Father in Heaven know your needs, strengths, and desires. Around this knowledge your personal course must be charted and your choices made."

"Living by basic good-mothering guidelines enables a mom to blend the responsibilities of parenthood with its joys; to know when to stand her ground and when to be flexible; and to absorb the lessons of the parenting gurus while also trusting her inner voice when it reasons that another cookie isn't worth fighting over, or her child won't suffer irreparable trauma if, once in awhile, Mom puts her own needs first."

Great quotes, Kylie! Thanks for sharing. I think I need to read these on a daily basis - it's so easy to get weighed down with feeling inadequate. I'm glad I'm not the only mom who ever feels that way!
I miss you! I wish we could get together and chat and let our kids play. :)
Thanks for that! Love it...
Another quote that I love that kinda goes along with that (maybe?) is "When we compare ourselves to others, we either become vain or bitter." I try to remember that, again and again and again.
