The 2 Year Old Report

Hallie had her 2 year old well-child visit, about two weeks ago now, and we figured a few things out. But here is the report:

-Weight: 28 lbs. (68th percentile)
-Height: 35 inches (81st percentile)
-Head: 19.75 cm (97th percentile)

A funny story about Hallie's head measurements: We recently changed doctors for Hallie, but when the doctor looked at her measurements, he asked "has she always had a big head?". I just about broke out laughing, but just answered "yes, she has." I just thought it was funny, and very much not what I expected.

Also, for those who don't know, Hallie has been having more stomach issues. About every 6-8 weeks she will wake up in the middle of the night and throw up a few times, and then she will be fine for the rest of the day, then she will wake up and throw up again, this goes on for a week or so. So after discussing it with her doctor, he diagnosed her with cyclical vomiting syndrome. Which he described as abdominal migraines. Essentially her stomach is receiving bad signals from her brain causing her to throw up repeatedly. It isn't anything serious, just something we have to deal with for now. Typically they outgrow it at puberty, but sometimes the throwing up is replaced by true migraines at puberty too, so we are really hoping that that isn't the case. But there isn't anything that we can do about it unfortunately. So i guess we just take it as it comes.

So even though that isn't the best of news, it is good to know what is going on.

Not so fun for Hallie, but that is nice that you finally know what it is.
