One BIG Mess

1.27.2011
Ever since we have put Hallie in her toddler bed, she has discovered the new freedom of being able to get in and out of bed all by herself. Well, one morning she got up and didn't wake me up like she normally does.

The night before we had gone grocery shopping and had bought some frosted animal cookies, so we had a few when we got home, and I tucked them back into the corner of the countertop, thinking Hallie wouldn't be able to reach them...oh how wrong I was.

When I got up, Hallie was on major sugar high. When I woke up and went into the kitchen it was a disaster. She had pulled a chair over to the counter and taken my flowers out of the vase, pulled the petals off of a couple, mixed a whole bunch of stuff into the water in the vase, and she had eaten almost the whole bag of cookies! I'm not sure how she wasn't sick. The few cookies she hadn't eaten, she had dunked in the vase, then put them in the toaster. Fabulous!

Luckily, I was able to laugh, and not scream. It was one of those surreal moments that you're not sure how you got there. It was really funny, even though we spent close to an hour digging cookies out of the toaster. :)

This is one of those stories you'll have to tell her when she is older... My opinion- it is one of the best parts of being a mom. Hilarious!

Glad I'm not the only one with a story like that! Although the creativity in Hallie's story may take the cake. Sadie has just learned that she can climb on the counter by herself...not good! I have a story just like this one to post about soon.
