The Lights at Temple Square

12.16.2011
We realized that the last time we had been to Temple Square at Christmas time, was when Hallie was about four months old.  So even though she had technically seen the lights before, she really hadn't seen the lights before.  Plus she was old enough this year to really enjoy it.  So we headed off to Salt Lake for a fun night out.
It was extremely cold when we got there, and we hadn't thought to check before about what was going on in Salt Lake that night.  Well, we happen to hit the night of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Concert, and a Jazz game (I think, there was another big event).  So we jumped on TRAX and headed to the Gateway to find something to eat for dinner.  This was also Hallie's first time on "the train."

Waiting for TRAX
Finally on the train.  Hallie loved it.
We ate at Z'Tejas at the Gateway.  (We weren't fans.)
Then we got back on the train and headed into Temple Square, even though we were still freezing, and it was packed with people.  But it is always fun to see the thousands of lights on Temple Square.
Because it was so cold, and dinner took much longer than expected, we did the shortened version of walking around Temple Square.
How can you not love this?

Here we are all bundled up.

I couldn't help but think of taking a very similar picture three years earlier...
Look how little she was!

Hallie was freezing, and starting to get tired, so she didn't really want to cooperate to have her picture taken.
We basically walked in the South gate, down around the Tabernacle and out the North gate.  So it really was a quick trip through, but Hallie loved it, and because it was so frigid we were all fine heading back to the car.
