Christmas Eve Movie: The Princess & The Frog

I don't ever remember doing this, but I'm told we used to go to a movie on Christmas Eve as a family when I was little, or maybe it was New Years Eve. . . either way we decided to brave the movies on Christmas Eve. We decided The Princess and the Frog looked like a good one. Unfortunately, Hallie thought it was fun until the movie started, then she had a little bit of a meltdown and it took a lot of work to keep her quiet and apeased. This was partly our own fault though, we weren't thinking that nap time would hit right in the middle of the movie. So Eric and I feel like we need to see it again, though I saw a lot more than Eric did. What I did see I loved though, it is a fun story with a good message. Definitely different than any other Disney Princess movie, but very cute.

Hallie was amazed by the screen. . . at least until the movie started

We did have a good time though, and Hallie fell asleep on the way home.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve went as normal. We went to the Christmas program at the church, then dinner at my parents, reading a new Christmas story, and new jammies. Always a good night, and a good time with family.

Playing games after dinner
Ooo! A box!
New PJ's!
Hallie was not going to let go of her new giraffe from Adam, Erica, Whitney, Audrey & Zack. She still loves it, and she definitely was not letting it go. Thank you guys!

Hallie, Warrior Princess

Hallie's new boots came the other day, and she wouldn't take them off. So she walked around like this for an hour or so. You've got to love the boots, with no pants, and the tea set in her hand. What a funny girl.

Tradition

Even though we were not feeling the best, we had to do Eric's all-time favorite tradition, tin foil hats. Oh so fun!

That night we figured out that Hallie had strep throat, so Grandma found Hallie a Popsicle. This is how she enjoyed it.
Yes, Hallie stayed awake to ring in 2010. We put her down and she fell asleep just fine around 9, but woke up screaming an hour or so later and she just couldn't settle back down. After many attempts, by practically everyone in the house, we finally just gave in and let her stay up. Luckily she crashed as soon as we got home and slept til almost noon the next day.

The Beginning of an End

Tomorrow I start the first day of my last semester at BYU. I am kind of having a major mix of emotions, I'm thrilled that I am almost done, and it is a great motivation to go back tomorrow. Yet on the other hand it is slightly scary. What to do next? Obviously I'm very excited to finally be home with Hallie full-time. But it is still scary as I have ALWAYS been in school since the time I can remember, and when I haven't been I've known that I would be in the next few months. This time it will be different, the end of my formal education, for now, is quickly arriving. Like I said, I'm very excited, but it is still such a foreign idea that in four months, April 22 to be exact, I will not have to worry about my own schooling again. Weird. Anyway, I know it will be good, and I am very excited, it is just slightly intimidating.
