Back in August we went with my sister's family down to Castle Dale, Utah, to enjoy the Castle Valley Pageant. It is only a few hours down, but its just long enough that we decided to stay the night and make an overnighter out of it. It is a fabulous pageant about the settling of that area and the blessings and strength of eternal families. We really liked it, it is much smaller than other pageants, and more fun. Though we were a night late. The night before we got there President Uchtdorf and his family were there. It would have been neat to enjoy it with them.
On the way down to Castle Dale we stopped at an elementary school and played on their playground to let the kids run around and get some wiggles out.

After playing for an hour or so at the park, and a few snacks, we jumped back in the car and headed to Castle Dale. We were going to go set our tents up before the pageant but we would've had to backtrack quite a ways if we did that, so we just went straight to the pageant site. They do some cool activities before, so we wanted to get there in time to do that.Having some dinner, yes we just spread a blanket on the dirt between our cars. It worked. :)

All Hallie wanted to do was pet the horses, which were everywhere. So I finally made Eric go ask this nice old man if Hallie could pet his horse.

This cute old man was the narrator of the story that night, but we probably talked to him, his son, and grandson for 20 minutes before the show started. We learned all about his horse, and the pageant. It was neat to have the background going into it.

The pageant. The night was amazing. We were worried that we were going to get dumped on, but we just sat there and watched all the lightening all around us, but we never got wet. It was a perfect summer night. Just cool enough for jackets.We also ran into my Aunt Jeanne, and my cousin Jody and her family. It was fun to see them and talk to them for awhile. We don't see them too often, so it was nice to run into them.
After the pageant ended we drove into Castle Dale to find the park that we could camp at for free. After driving around a few times we finally found it, but the County Fair was going on so there was little grass to choose from. And we got woken up at 7 am by cheerleaders in the parking lot asking "do you think anyone is sleeping in there?" :) Good morning!

After we got up, had some breakfast, and packed up camp, we decided to head back and make a stop in Price again. My family has a family cemetery in Price, so Stacie and I wanted to stop and take some pictures while we were there. It took us a while to find it, because it is in a really weird place, and hard to get to. But we made it.

Hallie crashed the rest of the way home, and we were all sunburned from being out in the cemetery so long.
We had a great time, and it was a fun, quick trip.
