Tangled: Take Two

2.21.2011

Considering how much Hallie like Tangled, we were keeping our eyes out for when it hit the dollar theater. We say that it had come to Spanish 8, which has some movies that are kind of in between the big theaters and the dollar theater, so we thought we'd go. Hallie got all dressed up in her favorite princess dress, grabbed some lunch on the way over, and off we went.

Well the theater was a little scary! We had never been there, so we had no idea what to expect. We were the first people in the theater and it was pitch black, we found some seats and waited, and they eventually turned on lights so more people could come in. Though we would have rather them leave the lights off!

There were a ton of chairs that were "out of order," the floor was disgusting, and it was just gross. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Spanish 8...but it was worth it for our little princess. :)

Cooking with Daddy

2.21.2011

Lately Hallie has absolutely loved helping make things in the kitchen. This day I think they were making cup or something, not entirely sure, but I know Hallie had a great time!

And she thought it was so great to sit on the countertop and eat her almond butter and jam sandwich...if we were all so easily pleased.

Happy 2 1/2 Day!

2.17.2011

Our silly little girl on her half birthday! She sure does keep us entertained!

Apple

2.16.2011

This little monkey loves her fruit, and she was so darling. She pulled out a chair and got herself an apple and sat right down and ate it. :)

Valentines Day 2011

2.14.2011

Valentines Day this year was a pretty relaxing day. We didn't do a whole lot, but it is always great to spend the day as a family
I got Eric a universal remote for our TV and cable box, and VHS/DVD player. I know, I know...it's not very exciting, but he was thrilled. :) Though we found out it doesn't work with our TV so it went back to store and we exchanged it for one that would work.

Hallie got the Llama, Llama books (which are such cute books), and they became a quick favorite.

I woke up to this beautiful flower, Martinelli's, and new jewelry. Definitely can't complain. :)

Eric had to work that morning, but he surprised Hallie with a new hippo when he came home. She loved it!

Because Eric goes to work so early, he also gets home between noon and one, so we went to a Valentine's Day lunch at Texas Roadhouse, and avoided the crowds.

Eric had been dying to go to Texas Roadhouse so it was a good excuse to go. I got the loaded sweet potato as a side, and oh my goodness, it is delicious!

After that, our day was pretty normal, we went to the park and let Hallie play,

and ate cupcakes,

and went to bed. It was a great family day.

Biting the Bullet...

Okay, for real this time, I'm going to get caught up. I'm setting a goal to be 100% caught up by July 24th. So there is going to be a lot of posts from a long time ago, so bear with me. :) I keep thinking of fun things I want to post then I realize I have a lot of catch up to do first, so I just don't post anything. Well, that's about to change...

Just had to laugh...

Okay, okay, I know, I'm not getting any better and getting caught up. I keep telling myself that I just need to bite the bullet and go to it, but I haven't yet...obviously.

But, today Hallie has just been so funny! I just had to share a few of the gems from the last few days.

These pictures are from my phone, so ignore the poor quality, but I just love this picture. When we are at home, or really anywhere I will let her, she lives in her princess dresses and tu-tus! She is one happy girl when she can be all dressed up like a princess.

-As I got out of the shower this morning, Hallie ran into the bathroom and said "Oh, no!", I looked down only to see that her arm was black striped. Knowing that she had found the sharpie I put her in the bathtub, which was on the cold side because I had just showered, and we scrubbed and scrubbed. As I'm scrubbing she looks and me and said very sincerely "why did I do that?", which she continually asked during the scrubbing process. You can assume how the rest of the conversation went. :)

-We were lucky enough to be given some tickets to the Orem Owlz baseball game tonight, so even though we all probably should have been in bed we decided to go. On the way home Hallie was asking if the sun was going down or up, we obviously explained that it was going down, to which very seriously she asked, "is the sun taking a long nap?". She's a thinker for sure!

-Before the ballgame I asked Hallie if we should do her hair, and she kept saying no to anything I could think of. So I finally asked, "well what do you think we should do then?", and she replied "I just want to have long hair like Rapunzel today." Huh, if it were only that simple. :)

-On our way home Eric decided he would really like an ice cream from Macey's so he just ran in while Hallie and I waited. I asked Hallie if she was a cutie patootie, and she replied and said "no, that's a movie, that's rat-patootie!" (aka Ratatouille). :)

Hallie is very into blowing "flowers," something I'm sure all of our neighbors really appreciate.
-A couple days ago Hallie and I were reading the book The Hiccupotomus (which is highly recommended, it's super cute). It is a story about a hippopotamus who has the hiccups and it makes up a bunch of silly words. Well there is a part where is says, "and he tripped the elephantapede," as in elephant and centipede. Well I go to turn the page, and I am instantly stopped by Hallie telling me to "wait, wait, wait!", then she asked "why did the elephant pee?". I couldn't figure out what she was talking about for a long time, but then when I figured out that she thought it said "the elephant peed", I couldn't help but laugh.

-Occasionally we'll ask Hallie if she is a big girl or if she is a baby, (why we ask, I don't know) and one day out of the blue she responded, "no, I'm just a little girl," and that has been her response ever since.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share. I know it's always more funny when it's your own kid, but she has made us laugh a lot lately. We are so lucky to have our Little Miss.
