After talking about it for way to long we finally scheduled Hallie an appointment at the dentist. I was worried because of her medical history, and that she doesn't particularly care for doctors in general. So I went back and forth between finding her a pediatric dentist or just taking her to our family dentist. We ended up just scheduling it with our family dentist. It worked out nice because I needed to get my teeth cleaned too, so she was able to watch me first. The dental hygenist even put on The Little Mermaid for her! When I was done, we were able to talk Hallie into letting the hygenist count her teeth while we waited to see the dentist. I was quite suprised she let them do that, but she was great about it, at least until the dentist came in. She wanted nothing to do with him, and wouldn't even sit with me while he looked at my teeth. It made her extremely anxious in general, but I don't think it helped that he had left his mask on because he came over while he was waiting on a filling to dry on another patient. Luckily he didn't push the issue, or I think we would have a very traumatized little girl. So we just had a "happy visit" where she got a new toothbrush, got to sit in the chair, and a token for the toy tower. She was happy about it I guess. We will have to see how she does in six months.
