BYU Convocation: College of Life Sciences

4.23.2010

The day finally came that I wasn't sure ever would. The day when I would be handed my diploma for my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Our Department was disbanded this last December, so we were moved into the Life Sciences Department, which is HUGE! I don't even want to know how many names had to be read. It seemed like they went on and on with names, but it was a great day nonetheless. Kelsie and Rob and their girls were able to make it, as well as my parents and Eric and Hallie. Thanks for coming, it really means so much!

Find the circle, and you will find me. I was lucky enough to have a front row seat! (Which also meant I got a great view of professors catching a quick nap :) )
Three cute little girls, anxiously watching
The night before, we went to fill Woof for Grandma and Grandpa, so while we were there we decided to go into the Disney Store and get Hallie Nemo. We will occasionally go in there to just look around, and she always carried a Nemo around. Typically it was one that was bigger than her, so decided to go with a more manageable size. She quite obviously LOVES him! (She is a very big Finding Nemo stage right now)
YAY! Shaking Hands, and about to receive my diploma
Emi and Grandpa
Cute, cute Alisa who celebrated her 8 month birthday watching my graduation

Hallie just LOVES her cousins, I think she may have snuck into this picture when Kelsie was trying to get one of her girls
It was a rainy day, and was not at all warm!
Hallie wanted to carry the umbrella, and my dad helped her
Hallie was ready to run
She kept running away, thinking that she was so funny! :)
This is the closest we got to a family picture
After the grand event, we had a barbecue at my parents house. It was great to see everyone!
Me with Jesse, Lauren, and Abby Larsen
Me and my Grandpa Adams
My Grandma Peterson and Alisa
Hallie is so lucky to have such great cousins!
Hallie was exhausted! She came and sat with me for a minute, and I asked if she wanted to lay down on the couch, and she said yes. This is what I saw about two minutes later. :)
I wish I would have got more pictures with everyone that was there. Sorry! But thank you so much for coming, it was great to see and celebrate with everyone. I love you all!

BYU Commencement

4.22.2010

Graduation at BYU is a two day event. The first day is Commencement, where everyone for any department can participate in the processional and you get to listen to some great talks. At first, I really didn't want to walk in Commencement, but when I walked in and sat down with 5000 other graduates, it truly made it real, and I was so happy that I decided to do it. Elder D. Todd Christofferson spoke at this event, and he gave a great talk, and was quite funny. It was fun to see a different side of him.

I know it's little, but I am circled in this picture
Me and my parents after Commencement. There is no way I could have made it to this day without them.
Because the graduation gowns are by height, mine looks absolutely HUGE on me. But oh well, they aren't the most flattering of outfits to begin with.
Hallie was tired. What a goof!

Woof!

4.21.2010

Since Hallie spent so much time at my parents while I was in class, and there is no way that I could have done it without them, we decided to get them a little thank you gift. After much debate we settled on a Build-a-Bear with a recording of Hallie's sweet little voice. It started off well, Hallie chose a cute little puppy dog for Grandma and Grandpa and we started to go through the process.

Choosing the animal
Making sure it was the right one
...and then we had a breakdown! A MAJOR breakdown, complete with a full on tantrum.
So, if you ever need to know you can take the recording stuff home, and come back later...

...which we did after a lot of time trying to get Hallie to cooperate.
Here is Hallie giving Puppy a bath.

Then we were off to choose clothes and a name for the dog. When we were sitting at the computers and I asked Hallie what we were going to name the dog. She looked at me and very matter of factly said "Woof." So Woof is his name, and we think it's pretty cute. Luckily the work to get Hallie to cooperate to get her to record was well worth it, my mom and dad loved it. Thank you Mom and Dad! There is no way I could have made it through school without you and your help!

Self Portrait

4.11.2010

Hallie still loves to press the "butt" (button) on the camera. This day, she actually took pictures of herself. She cracks me up.
