Hallie's First Haircut

3.21.2011

After much deliberation over a few week span, I finally came to the conclusion that Hallie desperately needed a haircut. The ends were so wispy and fine, and they were getting kind of ragged looking. Plus Hallie would battle me to do anything with it so I often would just brush it through and leave it at that. I was going to have a neighbor friend of our cut it but one night I decided it just needed to get done, while I still was convinced it needed to happen, and I cut it myself.

First she had a bath...

Look how long her hair was!
All ready for her haircut
Here we go...
In order for her to sit still we put Finding Nemo on the TV and she did great. I was actually surprised with how well she did.
She loves Nemo!
Trying to even everything out. But in the process I got it a lot shorter than I had originally planned.
The finished cut!
Looking at it all now, her hair is so cute short and I love it. But I would be lying if I said that I loved it right away, and there were definitely tears shed. The original intention was to just trim it, but that wasn't how it ended up. Plus, we cut all of her baby hair out, and with it most of her curls. More than anything though, it made her look so grown up. When all of this came together it made me very sad at the time.

But now I am so glad that we did it. It is so cute, and so her, and so much easier to manage. :)

I swear that's what happens every time we cut little Neto's hair. We say just a trim. Not too short and before I know it not a single curl has survived.

She looks very cute! You did a great job. Like you said, she is looking very grown up, but still just as beautiful as ever!
